The course covers the following topics:
- What independence means to disabled people.
- An understanding of the Models of Disability and how these shape thinking about disability.
- Identifying barriers to inclusion in society faced by disabled people.
- Identifying the legislative framework for Disability Equality Training and its protected characteristics.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of issues relating to terminology and Disability Equality.
- Recognise how people’s perceptions of disability itself is formed by the established culture.
- To formulate an action plan of constructive changes which both originations and staff can make to their working practices and indeed personal lives for the society as a whole.
